FIFA Suspends Cameroon’s Football Association

The Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) on Thursday announced the provisional suspension of the Cameroonian Football Association (FECAFOOT) from the international game with immediate effect. In a statement on its website, FIFA’s Emergency Committee said it took the decision on account of government interference and based on articles 13 and 17 of the FIFA Statutes.

Gov Rotimi Amaechi Donates 100k USD To Save OJB

Rivers State Governnor, Rotimi Amaechi has finally come to the rescue of ailing producer OJB Jezreel by approving the $100,000 (N16 million) required for the kidney transplant procedure. This was disclosed by the head of the fund raising committee, Muyiwa Osinuga aka Nomoreloss, who told Nigerian Entertainment Today that the government of Rotimi Amaechi has finally reached out to the committee with a pledge to foot the entire bill for the transplant.

Egypt crisis: Army ousts President Mohammed Morsi

The Egyptian army has overthrown President Mohamed Morsi, announcing a roadmap for the country’s political future that will be implemented by a national reconciliation committee. According to a senior member of the Muslim Brotherhood, Morsi is being held in a military facility with top aides. "Morsi and the entire presidential team are under house arrest in the Presidential Republican Guards Club," Gehad El-Haddad, the son of a top Morsi aide, told AFP news agency on Thursday. Haddad's father, Essam El-Haddad, widely seen as Morsi's right-hand man, was among those held, he added. The head of Egypt's armed forces issued a declaration on Wednesday evening suspending the constitution and appointing the head of the Supreme Constitutional Court, Adly Mansour, as interim head of state.
