One Killed, Others Injured As Explosion Rocks Lagos!

One person was killed on Monday as a result of an explosion that occurred under the bridge linking Amuwo Odofin Housing Estate and FESTAC Town in Lagos. A policeman was also injured in the blast.
The dead victim of the blast was said to be the Chairman of the sand dredgers who operate under the bridge. Though the cause of the explosion could not be readily ascertained, reports indicated that the policeman’s leg was shattered by the explosion which was believed to have been caused by a bomb. Though official reports had not been made as at press time, it was gathered from some of the officers at the scene that the device that went off had a battery which was cemented to some explosive agents.
Men of the Police Bomb Squad moved in soon after.
