Why I Stopped Singing —Azeezat

Soul singer, Azeezat, has revealed why she stepped down her singing career for a couple of years. The singer who is popularly referred to as Queen Of Love has been off the music radar for a while but is back with a bang. Her new single, My Valentine, has  reminded fans of what they had been missing.
Azeezat told P.M.NEWS Entertainment Cafe that: “I took a little break to refresh myself, my talent and my skills. I went into publishing. I published a magazine called Hair’volution. It is the first hair and entertainment magazine in Nigeria. I’m back now, I’m working in the studio and I have already released a Valentine video called My Valentine. I’m still working in the studio and promoting the single as well”.
But Azeezat did not find publishing absolutely fascinating as she had too many managerial duties to perform. “It was something I enjoyed doing because writing is not too stressful for me, but it was the administrative aspect that was a new thing for me, not getting materials or the work done. It was stressful trying to get all the support that you need but it was a wonderful idea,” she explained.
She added that the idea to set up Hair’volution magazine was fuelled by her passion for hairdos. “Anyone who knows me knows that I love hair especially when there is a lot of creativity and ingenuity to it. I get inspiration from seeing fantastic hairstyles.”
Apart from singing and publishing, Azeezat is also a director at Copyright Society of Nigeria, COSON, the Assistant Coordinator of the Female Musicians Association of Nigeria, FEMAN, and the Managing Director of The Way To Happiness a non-government organisation.
